内容説明
This book is concerned with the divide that separated rich and poor in 16th- and 17th-century Aquitaine. It focuses on the hundreds of peasant revolts which occurred during this period. The book describes the conditions of extreme poverty and even starvation in which the peasants lived, and their exiguous legal status, that provoked revolt. It also explores the use to which myth was put in these uprisings.
