Description

Brazil is a country of sharp disparities. The gap between the richest and the poorest is one of the largest in the world. Brazil inequality is well known, but few studies have sought to investigate how forms of social exclusion constraint socioeconomic mobility, why particular groups have remained persistently excluded and stuck in poverty. This study seeks to explore these issues and to provide policymakers with a sense of the options they might consider to redress them.
