An outstanding resource for the serious Bible student. The NIV text is complemented by 50,000 cross-references, linking not only verses, but important passages too. Footnotes explain translation alternatives; provide in-depth information about particular words and phrases; and explain obscuret terms. This Bible offers an unparallelled 35,000-entry concordance - the most extensive concordance ever bound together with an English Bible. Key words such as 'salvation' and 'holiness' are asterisked, enabling the reader to explore these themes by working through the references in turn. There is also an attractive 16-page map section at the back of the Bible, showing the Bible world at different times and marking important routes, such as the terrain traversed by the Patriarchs and the Journeys of St Paul. The pages have margins of over an inch wide, allowing space for individual notes.
