This is a collection of the careers of over 75 Europeans who served in the native armies of India and trained their forces. The book mentions a host of officers both known and unknown, and further more, combatants and non-combatants. Among the non-combatants are included medical men, engineers, aquarians etc. The era discussed ranges from 1758 to 1849. The book is a reprint of the 1924 edition. It includes: European officers of Ranjit Singh's army, George Thomas, William Obrein, J.F. Allard, Paolo Di Avita, Charles Masson, Alexander Gardiner and others.
