Description and Table of Contents

Description

Five Anthems celebrates the music of Henry Purcell who composed some of the greatest English music, for the Chapel Royal and Westminster Abbey, between 1677 and 1695. His music is charaterised by its expression and originality, well over a hundred of his anthems and devotional songs survive. This volume has selected five of his most popular anthems probably written between 1680 and 1685. They are here arranged for SATB choir with piano accompaniment. The Choral Programme Series is now a well-established programming tool for many choirs as it offers a wealth of fresh material from many eras and in many styles. Also offering great value for money as each volume in the series provides up to forty minutes of music.
