Description
The haiku verse form has particular requirements, as all haiku enthusiasts will know. The trick is of course that within the discipline of this verse form the poem should flow effortlessly and fluidly. The reader must only be vaguely be aware that a fixed form has been used. In this collection of haiku verse Maria Heese has focused on Africa and the African landscape, which lends a new dimension to this ancient Japanese art form. In these deceptively simple poems and underlying the gentle meditative mood, a central thought emerges, often catching the reader by surprise.
