Description and Table of Contents

Description

This volume will bring together key articles looking at recent issues in Japanese politics which focus upon international issues. These will include articles looking at the tensions between Japan and its neighbours, the political implications of sending troops to Iraq, how Japan may become more assertive, and Japan's quest for becoming a permanent member of the UN Security Council. With more and more students enrolling at universities to study Japan, there is a demand for books which bring comprehensive and key articles under one umbrella. To date there have been few books which have dealt with Japanese politics. Most have been on issues which are covered in articles contained in this collection.
