The formation of the Pan-Pearl River Delta regional framework in June 2004 heralded a new beginning of regional development in China. Massive in scale and innovative in approach, the regional grouping excites scholars, investors and policy-makers in China and elsewhere.This book provides a systematic analysis of the '9+2' grouping across the region and within individual spatial units. With a vast stock of statistical and empirical evidence, it is a major contribution to the study of regionalization and spatial transformation in China in the 21st century.
