内容説明

Who Is a Normative Foreign Policy Actor? delves into one of the fundamental aspects of foreign policy at the global level. The book raises the question at a time when there is a proliferation of global actors. For the previous fifty years there was only one undisputed hegemon of policy based on ideals the United States. The European Union is an emerging foreign policy actor, driven by self- declared normative principles. But Russia, China, and India are also increasingly assertive actors on the global stage and similarly claim to be driven by a normative agenda. This book explores how these various global actors will define their foreign policy priorities and how they will interact, especially if their ideas of normative behavior differ. Other contributors include Daniel S. Hamilton (Center for Transatlantic Relations), Radha Kumar (Jamia Millia Islamia University), Andrey Makarychev (Nizhny Novgorod Linguistic University), Ian Manners (Danish Institute for International Studies, Copenhagen), and BrantlyWomack (University of Virginia).
