Includes the texts (p. 61-130) of "Commendatory verses" edited by Owen Swan, pseud. of Thomas Brown, and the reply "Discommendatory verses" which was anonymously written in 1700 by Sir R. Blackmore. Since the poems in "Discommendatory verses" are, with few exceptions, replies to specific poems in "Commendatory verses," the pieces are grouped by R. C. Boys in one continuous text according to their relationship with the other poems
