The Committee on Fair Employment Practice formulated and interpreted policies to combat racial discrimination in employment; received, investigated, and adjusted complaints of discrimination; and assisted government agencies, employers, and labor unions with problems of discrimination. The Division of Review and Analysis was responsible for operational analysis, program planning, and research. The Division's records provide information about the African American community during War II, including employment, housing, recreational facilities, industries. strikes and postwar planning for areas in which racial distrubances were anticipated
