Summary: The large volumes of low activity materials arising in decommissioning may be disposed of as low level waste despite the existence of other options which may be more environmentally or economically attractive. This report identifies the issues to be addressed in finding and implementing the most appropriate strategy for dispositioning decommissioning materials, based, where possible, on actual project experience in member states. A range of disposal and recycling or reuse options are considered.--Publisher's description
