内容説明

The Omnibus brings together seminal writings of distinguished academician, Gyanendra Pandey. It consists of three books. The Ascendancy of Congress in Uttar Pradesh, 1920-40 investigates the social contradictions, class forces, and efforts at political mobilization in Uttar Pradesh. The Construction of Communalism in Colonial North India, charts out the history of the term communalism and the politics and attitudes it seeks to encapsulate. The second edition updates the discussion on communalism in a postcolonial world. Remembering Partition: Violence, Nationalism, and History in India analyses questions of history and memory, the nationalization of populations and their pasts, and the ways in which violent events are remembered.
