Arguably the most popular Austrian artist, Friedensreich Hundertwasser was also one of the country's most controversial. Whether designing flush-free toilets or peace flags, building apartments with slanting floors or filming documentaries in the nude, this brilliant iconoclast left evidence throughout the world of his talents and passions. Hundertwasser's beloved KunstHausWien is home to the only permanent collection of the artist's works.
