Description

This volume provides an overview of the prehistory and history of the East-Central Sahara, an area of desert comprising parts of southern Libya, Chad and Niger. Prehistoric finds from the region consist of a range of lithic finds, and there are more than 25,000 examples of rock-art. The region is also home to numerous pre-Islamic stone structures. In modern times the region has supported the nomadic Tubus, whose society is also the subject of study here.
