The village is getting ready to celebrate Auntie May's 100th birthday. Old Dick, the farmhand, wants to make Auntie May a special card because she has been like a mother to him. The problem is that he can't write, so he enlists Tom's help to make the biggest card in the world, cut into the grass of a field. Alison Morgan is also the author of "Leaving Home" which was runner-up for "The Guardian" award and "Christabel", one of her stories for younger readers, was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. Her other titles include "Staples for Amos" and "Smudge". Carolyn Dinan has illustrated the award-winning "The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tyler", "But Martin" (runner-up for the Children's Book Award), and several of her own stories such as "The Monster Tea Party" and "Alfred Mouse".
