Description
This work analyses Latino and Hispanic art practitioners' vision of death. This gaze from the old continent over the most recent Latin American art is one of the most interesting features of this project, acknowledging the vision of Latin America held in other latitudes, and the ways in which the 'other' interprets and reads those cultural coordinates. For the CAAM, it is extremely important to install new life into its role as a bridge between Latin American and European art, one of the centre's signs of identity since it opened in 1989. We have materialised this idea of a platform and showcase for Latin American in many exhibitions, including Cuba Siglo XX, Mesoamerica or La Costilla Maldita.
