This volume reflects on the skyline, the interface between architecture and the space above it. Apart from prestige, professional competitiveness and overcrowding at street level what other needs drive the construction of ever taller buildings? With this in mind over 30 designs are examined including: Stockholm's Garden Library [JDS Architects], Sky Village [MVRDV] and iGuzzini Headquarters [Mario Cucinella Architects] in such generic contexts as highrise and hanging gardens, floating courtyards, and roof terraces to better understand the process of landscaping at height and what it means.
