This book is the catalogue of the drawings by Vincent van Gogh that are currently (2007) in the care of the Kroller-Muller Museum. For the first time the drawings have been studied on their own. The information gathered here presents an overview of the present scholarship concerning these drawings and also incorporates the results of recent art historical research on the authenticity of the works, their dating, their provenance and the exhibitions in which they appeared. This book differs in many ways from previously released catalogues. Teio Meedendorp not only manages to produce new data regarding the provenance of some of the works but also frequently comes up with sharp analysis of the techniques and materials Van Gogh used and with new dates for the drawings. With a well-reasoned foundation he overthrows doubts that have arisen over the years regarding the authenticity of some of the juvenilia.
