内容説明
Jan Fabre (Antwerp, 1958) is known both at home and abroad as one of the most innovative and versatile artists of his time. In the last 25 years, he has made a name for himself as a performance artist, theatre maker, choreograph, opera maker, film maker, author and creative artist. Each genre he practices, he defines the boundaries. His artistic record has remained contested all these years. Following the open, defining exhibition of his early work at the Muhka and the dialogue of recent and old works at the KMSKA (Royal Museum of Fine Art) at Antwerp in 2006, we bring you Homo Faber, the first ever reference work on all aspects of the creative art of Jan Fabre. This book looks at many powerful ideas and aspects of Fabre's performance art, drawings, sculptures/installations, photographic works and films. Such as his idea of metamorphosis, his use of human bones, or the resonance between his work and that of old masters like Van Eyck, Rubens and De Braeckeleer.
With contributions by Giacinto di Pietrantonio (curator of the book), Bart De Baere and Paul Huvenne, Jan Hoet, Luigi Ficacci, Sebastian Hackenschmidt, Stefan Hertmans, Bart Verschaffel, Lorend Hegyi, Sylvie Ferre, Emil Hrvatin, Emmanuelle Nizou, Thierry Raspail and Johan Swinnen. Also available in Dutch, with the title Jan Fabre - Homo Faber "http://www.aup.nl/do.php?a=show_visitor_book&isbn=9789061536475">ISBN 9789061536475
