内容説明
"China and the Irish" is a pioneering work, the first to explore relations between the Chinese and Irish people. Its eleven essays cover a wide range of topics, from diplomatic history to music, from business to botanical exchanges and literary connections. What the book makes clear is that, although formal diplomatic relations may go back only thirty years, interactions between the people of China and those from Ireland have a long and complex history, going back well before the actual founding of either Republic. The book includes a welcoming letter from the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, and an afterword by the current Irish Ambassador to China, Declan Kelleher.
