Overview
Introduction to Chemical
Engineering Thermodynamics Seventh Edition is a comprehensive presentation
of the subject of thermodynamics from a chemical engineering perspective. The
text provides a thorough coverage of the principles of thermodynamics and
details their application to chemical processes. The chapters are logically
organized, and include numerous realistic illustrations, examples, and
end-of-chapter problems. Understanding does require reasonable diligence and
motivation on the part of the reader, but every effort has been made to
facilitate the learning process.
Features
Of the more than 740
end-of-chapter problems, 20% are new to this edition.
The book is adaptable
to both one- and two-term courses, and material can be chosen to accommodate
curricular constraints.
Material of special
importance to chemical engineers including applications of equations of
state, chemical-reaction equilibrium, and phase equilibria, are given
comprehensive coverage.
The treatment of the
vital, but difficult topic of phase equilibria progresses from qualitative
discussion to simple models for vapor/liquid equilibrium, to more advanced
and specialized applications.
The final chapter is a
self-contained introduction to molecular thermodynamics.
