Description
On this triple CD, published to coincide with the British Writers CD set, some 27 American Writers talk about their lives and work. Most of the recordings come from BBC broadcasts and many have not been published before. Highlights on this CD include: rare recordings of two early American winners of the Nobel Prize for Literature: Sinclair Lewis and Pearl Buck. It also features Arthur Miller talking about his marriage to Marilyn Monroe, and John Steinbeck talking about why he wrote "The Grapes of Wrath".
