Description
The parasite-fauna include protozoans, helminthes (trematodes, cestodes, acanthocephalans and nematodes), leeches (parasitic), parasitic arthropods (crustaceans, acari and insects) and entomophagous parasitic insects, parasitizing diverse hosts, belonging to different groups of invertebrates as well as vertebrates (fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, including man), besides plants. In its pioneering efforts, the book brings together a wide range of the diversity of parasites with emphasis on the systematic survey, position, species richness and economic importance. Bibliography, author and subject indices, appended to the book, makes it more useful. It would cater to the growing needs of scientists, experts, research scholars and students, who are in the field of agriculture, veterinary, medical, economic parasitology and entomology, and researchers in the field of faunistic biodiversity. Further, the study of parasites is significant in biowealth knowledge of our region.
