Description
The Royal Society, with its long history stretching back to the 17th century, has always been concerned to keep a proper record of its activities and development. The Record was introduced by The Royal Society to do just that, and the first edition of this work appeared in the year 1897. This reprint of the 4th (1940) issue of The Record deals mainly with matters of historical interest, and therefore should be of interest both scientists and historians alike.
