Les traditions anciennes sur la dormition et l'assomption de Marie ont ete transmises a la fois par des textes et sur des lieux. Ces deux approches meritent attention. Les textes pour leur part sont a la fois nombreux et foisonnants. Leur interet est de premiere importance pour la connaissance du developpement du culte marial dans l'Antiquite.
The ancient traditions on the dormition and the assumption of Mary were transmitted at one and the same time through the texts and on the local places. We take into consideration the two approaches. The texts are numerous and abundant. They help us to know how the cult of Mary spread out in Antiquity.
