Description

Politics and Governance in the UK provides a comprehensive introduction to twenty-first century British politics. The multi-level character of government is fully reflected in the content and structure of the book, with the impact of EU membership and evolution given even greater coverage in this new edition. The second edition has been revised and updated throughout and takes full account of the outcome and impact of the 2010 general election. Sole authorship and the author's long experience of introducing students to British politics is reflected in the book's carefully designed structure and full coverage, as well as in its even and consistent style. Particular attention is paid to integrating the illustrative material with the surrounding text. This material: illuminates key issues, processes and events documents what the state and governing institutions actually do provides an insight, illustrated by cartoons and numerous other images, into the human face of politics.
