Description

Nanosized composite materials are getting more and more important because of their unique properties. In addition, the preparation of nanoparticles dispersed into solid hosts is nowadays attracting scientific and technological interest because the properties of these hybrid systems are different and often improved, compared with their isolated counterparts. This book investigates the modelling of the mechanical properties of polycaprolactone-layered silicates nanocomposites. Nanoparticles of iron oxide are also currently being explored for their diverse range of application such as magnetic storage media, environment protection, sensors, catalysis, clinical diagnosis and treatment etc. Furthermore, in spite of the fact that the magnetic pulsed processing is used for the powder compaction since the 60's, the considerable advances of this method for the nanopowders compaction has been established not long ago. In this book, the theoretical description of the magnetic pulsed compaction processes are presented. The mechanism, regulation and co-ordination of linear nanomotors are also discussed. Other chapters in this book explore the phase selective and morphology controllable processing of titania (TiO2) nanocrystals and their enhanced functionality via doping for photocatalytic, luminescent and magnetic applications.
