Over the last 30 years, chronobiology, the study of biological timekeeping, has risen to the forefront of modern biology. The purpose of this volume is to give an insightful balanced account of circadian clocks from protozoa to humans. The volume includes how biological timing evolved, the nature of genes/proteins that govern the molecular oscillations in the clock, how these vary across model species, where clocks are found, how they are reset, and the roles they play in normal and abnormal physiology.
