内容説明

Circulatory physiology is one of the fastest growing fields in basic science and practical medicine. In this edition the more important of these advances have been incorporated, as well as an estimate of their possible impacts on the care and treatment of cardiovascular patients. The volume is divided into five parts. Part 1 focuses on flow and transport for oxygen and nutritional substances. Parts 2 to 4 deal with flow and function in the brain, heart, stomach, intestine and liver. Part 5 considers the significance of pathophysiology of perfusion abnormalities in tissue and organ function. The flow and hemorheology of erythrocytes, microcirculatory disturbances in diabetes mellitus is discussed in this edition. Another major issue is ischemic and reperfusion injury. The role of oxygen-derived free radicals and ischemic tolerance in the brain is discussed as well as clinical and basic aspects of microcirculatory disturbances due to activated leukocytes, adenosine as modulator in coronary microcirculation, microcirculatory adaptation in the ischemic and reperfused heart and ischemic and reperfusion injury to the heart. This book will help to understand the current concepts of "Tissue Perfusion and Organ Function" comprehensively and suggests what should be investigated next in these fields.
