Description
In this extensive study, the author aims at a comprehensive analysis of funerary archaeological evidence in Early Iron Age Capua. He re-evaluates the relative and absolute chronology proposed by W. Johannowksy based on new data and provides a synthesis of the last 50 years of archaeological research in Capua. The material culture and funerary ritual are examined in depth alongside the development of Iron Age community in Capua, and themes of social identity, gender and cultural contacts drawn out.
