Description and Table of Contents
Description
In 1986 the government announced the introduction of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQS). Key aims of this initiative were to raise the levels of the workforce by increasing the number of take-up of vocational qualifications and rationalizing their provision. This research was undertaken to assess the factors which influence the take-up of NVQ/SVQs by individuals. Information is provided on the motivation and incentive to take-up the courses, including any barriers to take-up, individuals' knowledge and understanding of NVQ/SVQs, factors associated with completion, including any obstacles and obstacles to progression towards higher NVQ/SVQ levels.
