Howard Hodgkin is one of the foremost British painters of the last 100 years and his vivid, abstract works have been exhibited internationally for over four decades. His interest in attempting to capture and recreate moments of time and the fleeting impressions resulting from human interactions makes his approach in some ways more akin to that of the writer than the traditional painter.
