Description
This study of the Late Neolithic of Jordan takes as its starting point a full analysis of the lithic technology from the site of Umm Meshrat I. 8578 flaked stone artefacts are examined from the point of view of knapping techniques and for retouch and use-wear. It uses this data alongside other evidence for lithic technology in Jordan to build up a picture of regional variation, and to reassess the competing theories to explain the appearance of ovicaprids in the badia.
