This study revisits the subject of the foundation of Valencia in southern Spain, supposedly founded as a veteran colony in AD138. Based on written and archaeological evidence, Marti approaches the subject from an Italian rather than a Spanish perspective, proposing a foundation history for Valencia, rather than the definitive story.
