Description
This book summarises recent knowledge about the immune, inflammatory, endocrine and neuronal networks. The pathomechanisms of hypertrophy in cardiovascular diseases cannot be explained and understood without knowing their interaction with the neuronal network. The book strives to give broad yet specific information detailing the pathomechanisms involved in these systems as orchestrated by the nerve growth factor. The nerve growth factor is a member of neurotrophins. It is produced by neural and non-neural cells. Particularly, the cells of the innate and adaptive immune systems are able to secrete nerve growth factor. Its role is essential in the balance between cell survival and apoptosis. This book aims to solve recent challenges posed by stress-initiated diseases, where the increased sympathoadrenal activity induced inflammatory and immuno-endocrine events.
