Description

This book celebrates the seventieth anniversary of Jung's 1939 lecture entitled "The Symbolic Life" to the Guild of Pastoral Psychology in London and considers if and how Jung's path into living a symbolic life is still viable today. Murray Stein, the president of the International School of Analytical Psychology in Zurich (ISAPZURICH) serves as the guest editor of this volume, and the contributors are all analysts or students affiliated with ISAPZURICH. This issue also features an interview by Rob Henderson with Sonu Shamdasani, the editor of Jung's famous "The Red Book", only recently published and made available to scholars and the public for the first time. "The Red Book" is a product of Jung's own confrontation with the unconscious between 1914 and 1930, and is where he developed his principle theories of the archetypes, the collective unconscious, and the process of individuation.
