Description and Table of Contents
Description
The marine red macroalga Porphyra yezoensis is an important marine crop, particularly in Asian countries for the production of "Nori". This book presents the latest research using P. yezoensis in order to share valuable information necessary for the progress of red algal research. The topics covered focus on developmental regulation, gene expression analyses of nuclear and chloroplast genomes, breeding, basic and applied studies of foreign gene expression, and functional materials. Each topic is reviewed by Japanese experts, including botanists including phycologists, cell biologists, molecular biologists and biotechnologists.
