Description
The IISS2009 focuses on the various edge plasma and divertor physics and materials challenges faced by the upscale to ITER. These include steady state and transient plasma transport in the edge region, particle and heat exhaust, including material mixing and fuel inventory. All are tightly interlinked, establishing the plasma boundary as one of the most challenging areas of tokamak physics.
