内容説明
Dartmouth College, founded in 1769, remains the most rural of all the lvy League schools. For much of its history, Dartmouth depended on local builders and architects, or its graduates, to oversee campus construction. Through the 1930s only a small number of builders and architects were responsible for most of the college's buildings. This accounts for the campus's cohesive appearance. When Dartmouth began to commission nationally prominent architects around the 1950s, the original campus surrounding the historic Green was built out and new buildings were located beyond this core area. Today, Dartmouth is in the midst of another major building campaign and building projects are planned across the campus. Major architects include: Ammi B. Young, Jens Frederick Larson, Wallace K. Harrison (Rock Center), Charles Moore, Charles Gwathmey, Venturi Scott-Brown, Robert A.M. Stern, Moore Ruble Yudell, Koetter Kim, and William Rawn.
