内容説明

Wendy Bircher's updated revision of Marianne Lukan's standard-setting "Documentation for Physical Therapist Assistants" provides all the basics students need for keeping current with proper documentation skills as they would with other aspects in the ever changing field of rehabilitation. Not only must they learn proper documentation to receive reimbursement for the services they provide under a licensed physical therapist, but they must also address concerns related to patient confidentiality, HIPAA requirements, third party reimbursement requirements, and legal and ethical issues in practice. In addition to developing a thorough knowledge of the functional outcomes desired by all stakeholders in their patient's care, students must continue to build their documentation skills in a technologically changing environment utilizing computer and web-based programs. It tackles more practical examples for the PTA student's review, with examples of appropriate and inappropriate patient data. Additional practical examples are included on the Instructor's Resource Disk. Reviews notes that address specific pathologies, are used for third party payers, and are found in different treatment settings where PTAs typically work. It includes Medicare documentation requirements, coverage of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act, and examples of items that would be reasons for writing an incident report. Chapters include Learning Objectives to introduce the material presented in the chapter, definition boxes, and practice exercises galore to review the material presented in the chapter.
