This book accompanies an exhibition inspired by the artist's interest in cyclical narratives, Freud and the unconscious. The works in the exhibition are grouped thematically into five sections that trace a psychological journey that commences with sleep and entry into a doppelganger world. Titled, Parallel Reality, the first section features Graham's early explorations of the relation between perception and reality. The Recurring Dream includes the artist's celebrated film trilogy while Between the Lines focuses on Graham's work with language through his book works, texts and literary appropriations. His passion and immersion in the world of music is explored in Performance and the final section, titled Bliss, takes the viewer into a cinematic realm of transcendent pleasure. The publication is produced with five 'chapters' which echo the curatorial themes in the show. Includes biography and bibliography.
