This selection for school use of six hundred lines from the works of Catullus, Virgil, Horace, Tibullus and Ovid is accompanied by an introduction which includes short biographies of each of the poets, and a section on metre. Copious notes follow the Latin text and there is a complete vocabulary at the back of the book. The selection consists of these passages: Catullus 3, 4, 31, 45, 51, 101; Virgil Georgics 2.136-73, 4.460-527, Aeneid 8.190-267; Horace Odes 3.9, 3.13, 4.7, 3.30; Tibullus 1.1; Ovid Metamorphoses 1.451-567.
