Victor Majzner migrated to Australia in 1959 and after several years working in a Melbourne clothing factory, he entered art school and thereafter pursued his career as a painter. By the year 2000 when he retired from his position as head of painting at the Victorian College of the Arts, he was regarded as a significant artist.
