Description

This is a magnificently illustrated look at the latest work, "Signal Noise", from renowned American artist Terry Winters. Terry Winters belongs to a generation of artists who have taken painting beyond the constraints of Minimalism. Following his investigations in the 1980s - which centred on botanical and biological processes - Winters began exploring the cerebral spaces of information technology and issues of cognition and narration as they relate to Abstraction. His forcefully made paintings and drawings invoke networks and systems of modular form and structures in an intrinsic, unruly symbolic language that sets out to encapsulate the entire world. This volume is published on the occasion of Winters' first large-scale exhibition in Ireland, at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin, between June and September 2009.
