Description
The Otis family was largely responsible for committing Barnstable to the revolutionary cause, a move that irrevocably undermined the placid, homogenous nature of their society. As he discusses the reactions of the Otises and their community to this crisis, Waters illuminates the causes of the Revolution itself.
