Description
The first book to incorporate all the elements of remote community planning and development (design, engineering, construction, construction management, operation, and maintenance). Based on recent hands-on'' experiences, it is organized in the sequence in which the community should be planned and implemented, and addresses relatively new concepts in socioeconomic mitigation and environmental concerns. A hypothetical case study compares two nearby communities and their capacity to absorb construction and operations personnel. An appendix provides an owner's checklist of sequential actions required to plan a remote community.
