内容説明
Lisa Reilly discusses the entire fabric of Peterborough Cathedral, from its Anglo-Saxon remains, through the Anglo-Norman construction of the nave, choir and transepts and the early Gothic period, which produced its well-known west front, through to the final construction of its fan-vaulted retrochoir at the very end of the Middle Ages. The cathedral is analyzed on the basis of its archaeological and literary evidence, as well as its political context.
