Note
"The Greek text is basically taken from the text in the Loeb classical library, Hesiod, The Homeric hymns and Homerica, with an English translation by Hugh G. Evelyn-White (Harvard Unviersity Press and William Heinemann Ltd, Cambridge, Mass., and London, 1914), which in turn follows the text established by T.W. Allen, Homeri Opera tomus V (Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1912). The exception to this is hymn II, to Demeter, which takes the text given by Nicholas Richardson in his The Homeric hymn to Demeter (Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1974)."--Translator's note (p. [xxxviii])

Description and Table of Contents
Description
Composed for recitation at festivals, these 33 songs were written in honour of the gods and goddesses of the ancient Greek pantheon. They recount the key episodes in the lives of the gods, and dramatise the moments when they first appear before mortals. Together they offer the most vivid picture we have of the Greek view of the relationship between the divine and human worlds.
