内容説明

The Imperial Japanese Navy of World War II was the third largest in the world and had some of the most powerful warships of the time. This work, based on Japanese-language sources and hitherto unpublished material, examines the cruisers of the Imperial Japanese Navy, ships which were among the most powerful of their type and whose rumoured capabilities had considerable influence on Allied building programmes. As well as covering cruisers' design, development, modifications, capabilities and operational histories, this book goes beyond the ships themselves to examine larger issues of Japanese defense policy, naval organization and strategy, and technological development.
